Gorgeous antique art nouveau bronze bust, by George Van Der Straeten. Normal slight age related signs of wear. Nothing serious! Signature: 'G. Van Der Straeten'

George Van Der Straeten, Belgian artist (1856–1941).  Foundry mark: 'Société des bronzes de Paris'

He was living and working in France from 1883 onward. Exhibitioned in the Paris Salons ' l’Exposition Universelle de 1900' .  He earned several awards, e.g. a silver medal at the Universal Exposition of 1900. Van der Straeten demonstrated technical mastery in his work.
