decorated marble base. Old cast, 19th century .
Pierrot stands tall, with his hands in his pockets, in his typical costume with
a ruffled collar.Signature on the base: " Garnier " and a small foundry mark
height of the Pierrot 8,5 inch / 21,5 cm. Total height: 12,2 inch / 31 cm
In great antique condition
Pierrot is a character from the Comédia dell'Arte , he is dreamy and naive . He
is the unhappy lover of " Columbine " . Sometimes cowardly, sometimes boastful,
he likes to play tricks.
Jean Garnier (1853 - 1910), sculptor, enameller and engraver. This artist
regularly participated in the Salon from 1883 to 1905
